Statewide Motorist Assistance Patrol program provides employment and training opportunities to tourism-friendly drivers who render assistance to stranded motorists.

The Boy Scouts of America selected CCC as the Clearinghouse for “The Initiative”, which was the largest community service and volunteer effort of its kind ever performed in the history of our country.


Twin Branch

CCC AmeriCorps Crewmembers are developing recreational hiking/biking trails as well as a future Hatfield & McCoy Trailhead for ATV use. 



Mullens AmeriCorps

CCC AmeriCorps Crewmembers are building/improving on public lands such as hiking trails, community parks, stream clean ups.  Through community engagement they work to educate locals on environmental preservation. 



Wildwood Cemetery

CCC Youth and Veteran Crews maintain 5.5 acres of historic cemetery in preparation of events such as Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Founder’s Day, and Independence Day.



Beckley Beautification

CCC Youth Crews work throughout the City of Beckley in green spaces to plant and maintain flower beds, mulch, and grass/vegetation. They also assist in preparation of local events held downtown.



National Mine Health & Safety Academy Apprentice Program

Through the landscape management apprenticeship program, CCC Youth Crews perform routine maintenance and ground keeping on campus.



Burning Rock Outdoor Adventure Park

CCC Crewmembers monitor, maintain, and build trails for ATV use.



Richmond-Hamilton Vault Toilet

New River Gorge National River

CCC Crews installed a prefabricated vault toilet in the Richmond- Hamilton Farm area of the New River Gorge National River.  Opened to the public October 2016.



Interpretive Internship (Rangers in Training)

CCC- NPS New River Gorge National River Interns operate in the visitor’s center providing directional assistance and helpful suggestions/advice to park guests.



Petersburg National Battlefield

CCC HOPE Crews work to preserve 15 historic Civil War fortifications (grass covered) through routine preventative maintenance.



Prince William Forest Park

CCC Crews work with NPS biologists to eradicate the park of invasive vegetation in non-managed landscapes.

CCC Crews work on trail maintenance and rehabilitation of the Woodcock and Great Meadows habitats.

4 CCC Youth Crews work to restore historic stone structures (culverts, locks, flumes, abutments, and walls) and remove vegetation.
